So, Beardyman. Silly name… ridiculous sense of humour that you either get or you don’t… and yet the sounds coming out of this man’s mouth literally have to be heard to be believed.

If you’ve never heard a good beatboxer before, you should check out Beardyman. “All that noise coming out of the oversized mouthof a skinny white boy?” Incredible.

Beardyman was more than ably supported by JFB. One to watch, that lad, although frankly winning the 2007 UK DMC mixing champs was probably the first clue that he was pretty good at what he does. His fingers are almost as fast as Beardyman’s ridiculous lips!

Gig Highlight: As the show was nearing the end, Beardyman calmed the crowd and somberly announced that we all needed to remember that there was some shit going down in North Africa that we all needed to remember… and that because of that… he and JFB were going to fly a helicopter while playing the theme song for Airwolf.*

While the below isn’t my concert footage (the sound on my footage is totally overblown and it’s too dark to see anything anyway), it gives you some idea of what he’s all about. Except of course live, he’s 1000x more incredible because he more than makes up beats – he makes up whole songs, to the audiences requests. How often do you get that at a live show?! Enjoy.

*And yes, they did. A little remote controlled helicopter. Probably broke more than one Health and Safety rule, but the crowd loved it. They cheered, and cheered, and laughed. A lot like the rest of the gig, really!
