New Erykah Badu video directed by Flying Lotus

Although Erykah Badu’s last video for “Window Seat” caused such an uproar due to her impromptu strip show at at Dallas’ Dealey Plaza, it unlikely has anything to do with the headscarf she is wearing in this new video for “Gone Baby – Don’t Be Long”. Considering the ease for which she navigates below the radar meanwhile continuing to stay at the back of everyone’s minds, one can assume the scandal has fizzled into oblivion, sticking only to her public persona in a positive light. The bottom line is that whatever Erykah does I will sing her praise. She is a creative force and I believe in her talent. This video is directed by another favorite boundary-pushing, abstract music maker, Flying Lotus. It really makes me happy when two creatives put their visions together into one fabulous product. It is like trying to get your head around the seemingly obvious, but fantastical taste and texture combination makes peanut butter and jelly sandwiches so good.
