The music industry has been under a lot of heat for failing to adopt to digital forms of distribution quickly enough to translate into anything that can be deemed as progressive or impressively profitable. Lucky for us Ryan Van Etten, in his own blog VirtualMusic.tv, has put the heat into numbers that show a positive twist on the gloomy future of the music business. Here we can see the successful digital music companies according to site visitor stats in 2010. Ryan admits that there are some companies missing, as well as other flaws, due to his source for data collection. Nonetheless, it is an interesting article and a great visual for seeing who the main players are amongst a very impressive hoard of new and ‘old’ online music services.

Showing all the companies ‘in the green’ for 2010 seems to be really great news. Lets hope that in 2011 this color relates to some sort of profitability.
