In January, You’re Broke

If you’re anything like me, you’re looking at the January credit card statement and wondering exactly how all those zeroes got on there… Even in a recession it seemed like a good idea to splurge a little bit for Christmas, you know, with the cold weather and all… treat yourself… oops!

Well, as a followup to our previous posts about best-of lists for 2010, I just spotted this deal over at Bleep music (disclaimer: no affiliation whatsoever) where you can grab their 100 Best Tracks of 2010 for just £30/$50/€35.

There are some complete stunners there from a broad spectrum of musical genres, with some very obvious hits: Caribou with Sun from the Swim LP, or James Blake‘s CMYK which made it on a multitude of best-of-2010 lists, or less obvious “hits” that are simply lovely tracks like Burnout Eyess by the deliciously vowelly oOoOO.

Not every track will be to everyone’s taste, of course, but I’d say it’s worth popping over to take a look even if you’re just window shopping, that worthless melted plastic in hand…

PS: You have until February 10th… which is hopefully on the right side of payday!
